How to convert a YouTube video to 320 kbps MP3
- Copy the video link from your browser’s address bar or from YouTube’s Share button.
- Paste it into the box at the top of this page.
- The format is set to MP3 at 320 kbps for you. You can change either option if you like.
- Press Download Music and wait a moment while your file is prepared.
- When it is ready, play it right on the page to check it, then press Download file to save it.
What does 320 kbps mean?
320 kilobits per second is the highest bitrate the MP3 format supports. It gives the encoder the most room to preserve detail, at the cost of larger files: about 2.4 MB per minute, or roughly 145 MB for an hour of audio.
Is it worth it?
The audio on YouTube is itself compressed, so a 320 kbps MP3 cannot contain more detail than the source did. What it does do is avoid adding noticeable extra loss while converting, which matters if you listen on good headphones or speakers or plan to keep the file long term.
For casual listening, 128 or 256 kbps sounds very similar and saves space. You can pick any quality from 64 to 320 kbps with the controls above.
Prefer a different format?
MP3 plays everywhere. If your devices support it, M4A can sound cleaner at the same bitrate, and WAV is uncompressed for editing. You will find both below.
Use it responsibly
Only convert videos you have the right to download: your own uploads, content in the public domain or under a licence that allows it, or videos where the creator has given you permission. YouTube’s own terms may also limit downloading, and you are responsible for how you use the files you create.
